  • About Us

After returning from World War two in the late 1940’s, Melvin Webb opened a liquor store in his home town of Stony Creek a village of Branford Connecticut. The store opened in a small shack that had previously sold ice cream. Since the beginning he offered fair prices, community spirit and a love for Stony Creek which are the same values we cherish today.

The business model, products, proprietors and life in general have changed over the 60 plus years but the store remains a package store in Stony Creek, featuring a wonderful selection of wine, the coldest beer in town and all of your favorite spirits. The current owners Laura & Mark Richter have operated the store since assuming ownership on December 20th 2006.

In the summer of 2015 an addition was built integrated behind the original store front adding additional retail space. In the new space a 32 foot hand painted mural was commissioned and created by local artist Robin Woerner featuring spectacular views of the Thimble Islands. Scrap-O-Saurus a 6’ tall iron sculpture hand crafted by local resident Unk DaRos sits atop a 2 foot Stony Creek Granite wall that greets everyone entering Stony Creek. Scrap-O-Saurus has become a favorite of young and old and is frequently dressed or adorned for the season.

We offer a selection of gourmet cheese, crackers, fresh fruit and create custom gifts for any occasion. Stop by and see why we are the area’s favorite package store. We look forward to serving you!
